The S-UBG
The S-UBG-Group, Aachen, is a leading partner in providing equity for established medium-sized enterprises (S-UBG AG) and young, technology-based start-ups (S-VC) in the economic region of Aachen, Krefeld and Mönchengladbach. The S-UBG AG invests in growing industries, however, a relevant investment criterion is high quality business management. In 1997, the associate savings banks in cooperation with the S-VC GmbH, founded their own "Early-Stage Fonds" to finance young start-up companies. In 2007 the Seed-Fonds Aachen joined the S-UBG, which led to an expansion of the previous product range by offering investment capital for technology-oriented start-ups. The Seed Fonds Aachen
The "Seed Fonds für die Region Aachen GmbH & Co. KG” (seed fund for the region of Aachen) is one of seven regional Founders Funds, which is transcribed by the NRW.BANK in cooperation with the regional investment partners in North Rhine-Westphalia. The Seed Fond Aachen provides young companies in the startup phase with the necessary long term equity. The fund can maximally finance an amount of 850.000 € per round of financing and company, however, with co-investors, the amount of financial investment can be up to EUR 1.5 million. The financing experts of the S-UBG AG conceal themselves behind the operational management of the Fund. The holding company of Savings Banks has over 20 years of experience in the financing of medium-sized enterprises and technology-oriented start-ups in the region of Aachen, Krefeld and Mönchengladbach. The KfW SME Bank
The KfW SME Bank supports founders, professionals, innovators and small and medium businesses with classical credits, equity solutions, mezzanine financing and consulting. In 2006, it gave out EUR 12.6 billion. In the equity financing, KfW SME Bank is active in both, “early-stage financing” as well as “later-stage financing”. It provides start-ups, technology-oriented companies and established medium-sized companies with a tailored, transparent offer for the financing of equity. The ERP Start Fund as one of these financial instruments provides small equity financings with up to EUR 3 million in form of equity and / or debt. Major shareholding condition is, that another investor (lead investor) invests at least an equal investment in the company and closely supports the company on the basis of a cooperation agreement. The NRW.Bank
The NRW.Bank
NRW.BANK was founded on 31 March 2004 out of the Landesbank NRW (regional bank of North Rhine Westphalia) as an investment and communal bank for North Rhine-Westphalia. It offers customized products and the public promotion of equity financing for start-ups and SMEs in North Rhine-Westphalia. The NRW.Bank´s goal is to close gaps of small and medium-sized companies financial difficulties, with innovative financial and promotional products.
